MADISON NORMAN

An apparel and accessories designer that invites individuals to shape their world through Demi-Couture, androgynous apparel and accessories that transcend societal norms. Inspiration derived from humanity: from mythology and religion, to time, order and chaos, our histories and our experiences, to finding beauty in the darkness.

TO FEEL, IF ONLY FOR A MOMENT, AS IF WE WALK AMONGST THE GODS.

Madison Norman is an award-winning, genderless Demi-Couture garment and accessories designer based in Seattle, Washington. Known as a “Spinner of Yarns”, they are known for their dramatic, Shakespearian storytelling and theatrical runway presentations.

While embracing a slow fashion philosophy, Madison Norman specializes in custom, made-to-measure, made-to-order garments and accessories. From programming knitwear to up-cycling 100 year old wedding gowns, they redefine androgynous design through a blend of artistry and innovation, incorporating modern technology with traditional pattern making, beading, sewing, and hand knitting techniques. With a scientific-like approach to experimentation in design, final garments and accessories transport the wearer to an alternate, surreal dimension. 3D printing, laser cutting, and Shima Seiki knitting machines support Norman while they push the boundaries of what contemporary Demi-Couture can be.

In May 2019, Norman earned a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design, with a minor in Spanish, from Washington State University. Following graduation, they gained valuable experience working in a bridal alteration shop before pursuing further education. Norman relocated to Philadelphia to complete a Master of Science in Fashion Design at Drexel University, graduating in June 2024. During their graduate studies, they interned with renowned designer Harris Reed in London and held two graduate assistantships: one with the Fox Historic Costume Collection and another in the Shima Seiki Knit Lab. These incredible opportunities have been pivotal in shaping their fearless, distinctive voice in fashion

Awarded for their commitment to storytelling, sculptural designs, unique accessories, breathtaking runways, and cultural awareness. Norman’s work has been featured in Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, and in the windows of Joan Shepp.

TRUE LUXURY LIES IN EMBRACING ONE’S UNIQUE IDENTITY, BY UNDERSTANDING THE TRANSFORMATIVE POWER OF FASHION.

NORMAN’S MISSION IS TO REDEFINE REALITY WHILE DRIPPING IN AVANT-GARDE.

WE WILL CREATE THE WORLD WE WISH TO LIVE IN.
